Mobile Home Fire Contained at Filbert Grove Mobile Home Park in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — August 15, 2026 — Eugene Springfield Fire responded Saturday afternoon to a mobile home fire at the Filbert Grove Mobile Home Park in north Springfield, near RiverBend Hospital.

Just after 3 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a reported kitchen fire at the park. Engine 5 from the Gateway Station arrived about five minutes later and found a double-wide mobile home heavily involved in flames, with the fire threatening a neighboring residence.

Firefighters were told that all occupants had safely evacuated. Crews immediately began attacking the fire while also conducting a search of the home to confirm that no one remained inside.

Even when occupants or bystanders report that everyone has evacuated, firefighters treat a search of the structure as a high tactical priority. Fire scenes can be chaotic, and there is always the possibility that someone remains inside or that another person entered the building to assist. Crews work to independently confirm that no one is in danger while suppression efforts continue.

Firefighters contained the blaze to the home where it started, and no damage was reported to neighboring homes. No injuries were reported.

Eugene Springfield Fire deputy fire marshals remained at the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
