Oregon Organizations, Cities Receive More Than $4.6 Million in Federal Public Safety Grants
PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon organizations and cities will receive more than $4.6 million in federal grant funding to support public safety, youth services, behavioral health and efforts to assist survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The U.S. Department of Justice sent grant award notifications on Sept. 30, 2026. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon congratulated the Oregon recipients on the awards.
The recipients and their awards are:
- Liberty House: $1 million
- City of Gresham — East Multnomah Outreach Prevention Intervention: $1.005 million
- Oregon CASA Network: $1.031 million
- Oregon Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Inc.: $343,065
- City of Beaverton — Behavioral Health Court: $500,000
- City of Cottage Grove — Cottage Grove Police Department: $800,000
The funding comes through the Byrne Discretionary Community Project Grants/Byrne Discretionary Grants Program and the Office on Violence Against Women’s Fiscal Year 2026 State and Territory Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault program.
The grants will support a range of public safety and community programs. Planned work includes expanding medical clinic services for children who are victims of abuse or neglect, preventing and addressing juvenile delinquency, reducing youth involvement in violent crime and strengthening coordinated public safety efforts for youth and families.
Other funded programs will focus on behavioral health efforts intended to reduce recidivism, Court Appointed Special Advocates for children removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect, and services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The Cottage Grove Police Department will use its funding for fleet modernization efforts intended to support public safety and help restore community trust.
“I thank these organizations for their work to keep our communities safe and congratulate them on their awards,” U.S. Attorney Scott E. Bradford for the District of Oregon said. “I am thankful the United States Department of Justice continues to support this important work and our partners throughout our Oregon communities.”
The awards will support programs serving children, families, survivors and communities across Oregon.
