LINN COUNTY, Ore. — A 41-year-old Albany man was killed Saturday night in a collision involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle near Albany, according to the Oregon State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 10:01 p.m. on June 13 on Highway 164 near milepost 7 at the intersection with Scravel Hill Road.
A preliminary investigation found that a green Dodge Ram pickup, driven by 47-year-old Jason Richard Jones of Albany, was traveling westbound on Highway 164 when it collided with a red Honda motorcycle operated by Christopher Adam Brown, 41, also of Albany. Brown was traveling southbound on Scravel Hill Road at the time of the crash.
Brown suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jones was not injured in the collision, according to investigators.
Following the investigation, Jones was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), reckless driving, driving while suspended, and second-degree manslaughter. He was lodged at the Linn County Jail.
The crash closed or impacted traffic on Highway 164 for approximately three hours while investigators processed the scene.
Oregon State Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information was immediately available.
OSP was assisted at the scene by the Jefferson Fire District, Albany Fire Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Mr. Jones was released and all charges dropped. He was not at fault for this accident nor was he intoxicated.
