MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. — A motorcyclist died following a two-vehicle crash early Friday morning in eastern Multnomah County, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.
Just before 2:45 a.m. on June 5, emergency dispatchers with the Bureau of Emergency Communications received a 911 call reporting a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle in the 23300 block of Northeast Glisan Street.
Deputies, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist unresponsive on the roadway with critical injuries. The rider was transported to a local hospital, where they later died.
Preliminary findings indicate the motorcycle struck the rear of a vehicle. Investigators said no other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
The driver of the car, a 26-year-old adult, was not injured and remained at the scene, cooperating with investigators.
Northeast Glisan Street was closed in both directions for several hours while deputies processed the crash scene, photographed evidence, and searched for surveillance footage that could assist the investigation. TriMet was notified of the road closure, and the roadway reopened shortly before 5:45 a.m.
Authorities have not released the identity of the motorcyclist pending notification of next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation by the East County Vehicular Crimes Team, a multi-agency unit composed of specially trained investigators from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, the Gresham Police Department, and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. The team is responsible for investigating serious and fatal vehicle crashes and vehicular crimes in Gresham, Fairview, Maywood Park, Troutdale, Wood Village, and unincorporated areas of Multnomah County.
Officials noted that details released so far are based on a preliminary investigation and may change as additional information becomes available.
