Oregon – Today, the Oregon Republican Party held its Organizational Meeting, at which the State Central Committee chose the new Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Party. All incumbents decided not to seek another term.
The Republican State Central Committee comprises the Chair, Vice-Chair, Delegate, and Alternate Delegate of the county central committees. The county central committee helps their elections between election day and November 25th, 2024. It is made up of the elected precinct committee members who were elected during the Primary of 2024.
The Multnomah County Republican Party hosted the organizational meeting in Portland. Seven candidates initially ran for the Chair: Gabriel Buehler, Jerry Cummings, Ben Edlt, Justin Hwang, Richard Jolly, Jo Rae Perkins, and Angelita Sanchez. However, Justin Hwang and Richard Jolly dropped out the week of the election.
Voting Occurred: 3 Ballots were held; during the first round, Jo Rae Perkins went down; following the second round, Ben Edlt lost; in the Third Round, Gabriel Buehler dropped out before the third ballot was held, and during the third round, Jerry Cummings Prevailed.
For ORP Vice-Chair, Laurie Kimmel, Connie Whelchel, and Michaela Hammerson ran. During the first round, Connie Whelchel received 116 votes and prevailed as the new ORP Vice-Chair.
Both the treasurer and secretary were unopposed. Treasurer Glenn Miller and Secretary Sheri Brady were confirmed by acclamation.

The Young Republicans of Oregon will hold their own Organization meeting on March 8th to choose their next set of leaders.
