LANE COUNTY, Ore. — A 55-year-old Lowell woman was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 58 east of Eugene, according to the Oregon State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m. on July 2 near milepost 12.
A preliminary investigation found that Sarah Rachel Pratt, 55, of Lowell, was driving a dark green Toyota Camry and attempting to turn onto Highway 58 from a gravel driveway. As the vehicle entered the eastbound lane, it was struck on the driver’s side by an eastbound dark green Ford F-250 driven by Jesse Barrong, 51, of Springfield.
Pratt was pronounced dead at the scene.
Barrong was not injured in the collision. An adult passenger in the Ford was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Highway 58 was impacted for approximately two hours while investigators processed the scene and cleared the roadway.
The Oregon State Police were assisted by the Eugene-Springfield Fire Department, the Lowell Rural Fire Protection District, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The crash remains under investigation.
