BEAVERTON, Ore. — Detectives with the Beaverton Police Department carried out a series of investigations over the weekend targeting the unlawful possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), leading to the seizure of numerous electronic devices and several ongoing criminal investigations.
According to police, detectives conducted follow-up investigations on Saturday, June 6, after receiving information from community members and the Oregon Department of Justice regarding suspected possession of CSAM within the Beaverton area.
Authorities emphasized that child sexual abuse material investigations involve the exploitation and victimization of children, noting that every image or video represents the abuse of a child. Police said these investigations are critical for identifying offenders, protecting victims, and preventing further harm.
As part of Saturday’s enforcement efforts, detectives contacted suspects in five separate investigations throughout Beaverton. During those contacts, investigators seized multiple electronic devices that will undergo forensic examination. Evidence gathered during the investigations has contributed to several ongoing criminal cases, according to the department.
The Beaverton Police Department said it remains committed to protecting children and continues to work alongside local, state, and federal partners to investigate crimes involving the sexual exploitation of minors. Officials noted that such investigations help disrupt the distribution of CSAM, identify offenders, and safeguard vulnerable members of the community.
