Tillamook County, OR. — Max Sherman is the apparent winner of the Republican primary for Oregon House District 32 and is expected to face incumbent Democratic state Rep. Cyrus Javadi in the November general election.
According to unofficial election results, Sherman received 40.00% of the vote with 2,951 votes, ahead of Adam Dean at 30.56% with 2,255 votes and Christian Honl at 28.94% with 2,135 votes.
Following the release of results, Adam Dean publicly conceded the race and endorsed Sherman.
“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of the folks who supported me in the primary,” Dean wrote on social media. “Congratulations to Max Sherman. I wish him the best in his campaign and hope we can all get behind him and elect him in November.”
As of publication, Christian Honl had not publicly posted a concession statement.
Sherman also declared victory in a statement to supporters Wednesday, thanking volunteers, donors, and campaign supporters.
“Last night, the voters of House District 32 made their voices heard — and I am deeply honored and humbled by your support,” Sherman wrote. “This victory belongs to all of us who believe the North Coast deserves honest leadership rooted in service — not self-promotion.”
Sherman also thanked his Republican primary opponents and called for party unity heading into the general election.
“We now come together united with a common goal: defeating Cyrus Javadi in November and restoring trust in House District 32,” he wrote.
House District 32 covers much of Oregon’s North Coast, including communities in Clatsop and Tillamook counties. Javadi, originally elected to the Legislature as a Republican in 2022, later changed his party registration to Democrat while serving in office, setting up one of the more closely watched legislative races of the 2026 cycle.
