SANDY, Ore. — The immersive, community-built Shady Pines Festival will return to Camp Tasty’s in Sandy from July 16-19, marking the event’s fifth anniversary with a diverse music lineup, interactive art experiences, and a new artistic collaboration celebrating Portland’s creative culture.
Produced by Shady Pines Radio, the annual campout festival has become known for blending music, art, and community participation in a forest setting just outside Portland.
To commemorate the milestone year, organizers partnered with Portland artist Wokeface to create the festival’s official artwork. Wokeface is recognized for colorful, psychedelic-inspired illustrations centered on themes of self-love, human connection, and playfulness, with work featured in murals, street art, and merchandise throughout Portland since launching her practice in 2016.
“Shady Pines has always been about lifting up Portland’s creative community, so teaming up with Wokeface for our 5th anniversary just felt right,” festival founder Brian Bauer said in a statement. “We’ve loved seeing her work around town for years, and her playful, heartfelt style really matches the spirit of the festival and the community that’s grown around it.”
The four-day event will feature a broad lineup of local and regional musicians spanning indie, psychedelic rock, folk, funk, punk, and hip-hop. Scheduled performers include Hippie Death Cult, Federale, Haley Johnsen, Mic Crenshaw, and Red Yarn, alongside dozens of additional acts.
Festivalgoers can also expect interactive art installations, workshops, food and craft vendors, and signature traditions including a Thursday night open mic, a Saturday morning kazoo parade, and surprise pop-up performances throughout the grounds.
Organizers say the festival emphasizes accessibility and community involvement, offering volunteer opportunities and affordable ticket options. Children 12 and under will be admitted free, and this year’s programming includes expanded family-friendly activities and performances geared toward younger audiences.
Weekend and single-day passes are currently available, along with discounted pricing for groups purchasing four or more adult tickets. Organizers noted that ticket prices will increase closer to the event date.
Additional information, volunteer sign-ups, artist applications, and tickets are available through Shady Pines Festival.

An amazing festival full of really special people. I both want to keep it as a special secret for myself and tell absolutely everyone about it.
