GRESHAM, Ore. — A 19-year-old man was arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at another driver during a road rage incident in Gresham, authorities said.
On May 5 at approximately 6:15 p.m., dispatchers received a report of an aggressive driving incident near W. Powell Blvd. and SE 182nd Ave. The caller reported that another motorist was honking repeatedly, driving erratically, and pointing a handgun at her during the encounter. The victim was able to record video of the incident, which investigators say clearly showed the suspect aiming the firearm at her vehicle.
The suspect vehicle was last observed traveling westbound into Portland.
Officers with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Transit Police Unit located the vehicle near SE 150th Ave. and SE Powell Blvd. in Portland and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Gresham police officers later responded and assumed control of the investigation.
During a search of the vehicle, investigators recovered a handgun with a 30-round magazine located beneath the driver’s seat, authorities said.
The suspect, identified as Junior Reyes-Galindo, 19, was lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on suspicion of Menacing and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
