VANCOUVER, Wash. — Firefighters battled a vacant house fire Saturday morning in east Vancouver, bringing the blaze under control in about 25 minutes, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.
Crews were dispatched around 10 a.m. to a reported house fire at 3519 E. 21st Street. The first engine arrived within 90 seconds and found flames coming from the side of the building.
Firefighters deployed hose lines and began an aggressive attack on the fire. Officials said the structure was vacant and had several boarded-up doors.
Approximately 22 firefighters responded to the scene, with assistance from Clark County Fire District 6, which sent an engine and ladder truck to support firefighting operations.
No injuries were reported, and officials confirmed no occupants or animals were inside the home at the time of the fire.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area until about noon Saturday to help reduce traffic congestion while crews remain on scene.
The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. Officials said additional information and photos may be released as the investigation continues.
