PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland man nicknamed “The Grinch” after he was caught on camera stealing wrapped Christmas presents from a family’s home has been sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.
Allen Easley, 39, was sentenced on May 6, 2026, to 128 months — or 10 years and eight months — in prison following multiple burglary and firearm-related convictions.
The sentence stems from convictions in three separate cases, including charges of first-degree burglary of an occupied dwelling, first-degree burglary with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, second-degree burglary, and supplying contraband.
According to prosecutors, Easley has an extensive criminal history dating back to when he was 18 years old. Court records show he previously accumulated five convictions for first-degree burglary, four convictions for second-degree burglary, and six firearm-related convictions.
Deputy District Attorney Alex Garcia, who leads the Multnomah County Burglary Task Force, prosecuted the case for the state.
“Mr. Easley’s actions forever changed the lives of several people and warranted a long prison sentence of 128 months,” Garcia said following the sentencing. “I hope the sentence is a wake up call for Mr. Easley. Should he continue to do what he has been doing, there will be severe consequences. I sincerely hope that he moves on from this life and makes better choices.”
The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office credited Portland Police Bureau Officer Michael Stevens and the Burglary Task Force for their investigative work on the case.
Prosecutors also thanked victim advocate Kelly Eoff for providing support and assistance to victims throughout the proceedings.
