LANE COUNTY, Ore. (April 23, 2026) — A Eugene man has been arrested following an investigation into suspected child sexual abuse material discovered earlier this month at a local resort cabin.
According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began April 4 after a concerned resident reported finding suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM) displayed on a television inside a cabin.
Detectives identified the suspect as Michael Stephen Beasley, 63, of Eugene.
On April 21, Lane County Sheriff’s detectives—assisted by a special agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office detective with electronic detection K9 Trinity—executed a search warrant at a residence in the 4500 block of Old Dillard Road in Eugene. Authorities said numerous electronic devices were seized during the search.
Beasley was arrested without incident on April 23 and lodged at the Lane County Jail.
He faces the following charges:
- Ten counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the First Degree
- Ten counts of Encouraging Child Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree
- Encouraging Sexual Assault of an Animal
The case is being investigated by the Lane County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which focuses on crimes involving the exploitation of children. The sheriff’s office said the investigation involved cooperation with the FBI, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lane County District Attorney’s Office.
Officials emphasized that the arrest is part of an ongoing effort among local, state, and federal agencies to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable members of the community.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released.
