Case: 26CR07587
Portland, Oregon — A Portland man has pleaded guilty to multiple charges stemming from a series of burglaries and vandalism incidents at a church and school in Southeast Portland, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
Joshua Sandall entered guilty pleas on April 24, 2026, in connection with break-ins at Parklane Christian Reformed Church in late 2025 and Grace Lutheran School in early 2026.
Sandall pleaded guilty to the following charges:
- Count 01: Burglary in the Second Degree
- Count 02: Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree
- Count 04: Burglary in the Second Degree
- Count 05: Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree
- Count 11: Criminal Mischief in the First Degree
Under the terms of the sentence, Sandall was ordered to serve 180 days in jail with no credit for time served, followed by 36 months of formal probation. He must also complete a mental health and drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommended treatment as a condition of probation.
In addition, Sandall is prohibited from coming within 150 feet of either Parklane Christian Reformed Church or Grace Lutheran School. He has also been ordered to pay restitution for damages caused at both locations.
If Sandall violates the terms of his probation, he faces a potential 30-month prison sentence.
Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Alex Garcia, who leads the county’s Burglary Task Force, prosecuted the case on behalf of the state. Following the plea and sentencing, Garcia said the resolution provides both accountability and an opportunity for rehabilitation.
“This is an opportunity for Mr. Sandall,” Garcia said. “It is apparent that he has various issues and this sentence not only holds him accountable but offers him necessary services. I sincerely hope he takes advantage of the opportunity in front of him.”
The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office also credited Portland Police Bureau Acting Detective Cameron Smith and members of the Burglary Task Force for their investigative work in the case.
Officials noted that additional background on the investigation can be found in a prior Portland Police Bureau release regarding a series of Southeast Portland school burglaries.
