MEDFORD, Ore. (April 10, 2026) — A 65-year-old Medford resident has died following a collision with a delivery truck late Friday morning, according to the Medford Police Department.
Officers responded at approximately 11:26 a.m. to a report of a vehicle-versus-bicyclist crash on East McAndrews Road, just east of Poplar Drive. The driver of a delivery vehicle called 911, reporting they had struck a bicyclist while exiting a parking lot.
When emergency responders arrived, they found the cyclist trapped beneath the delivery truck. Rescue crews from Medford Fire and Mercy Flights worked to extricate the individual before transporting them to a local hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the cyclist later died from their injuries.
Authorities identified the victim as a 65-year-old Medford resident. The name has not yet been released. Next of kin have been notified.
Preliminary findings indicate the delivery truck was exiting a parking lot on the south side of McAndrews Road and had stopped while preparing to turn eastbound. The bicyclist was traveling westbound along the south sidewalk when the collision occurred at the entrance to the parking lot.
At this time, investigators say no citations have been issued and there is no evidence of criminal activity. The incident remains under investigation.
