LINN COUNTY, Ore. (April 13, 2026) — Two people were killed and another seriously injured Saturday evening in a head-on crash on Highway 34 near milepost 14, according to the Oregon State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 6:43 p.m. on April 11. A preliminary investigation found that a gray Hyundai Elantra, driven by Rebecca Estelle Fonseca, 55, of Sweet Home, was traveling westbound when it hydroplaned, crossed into the eastbound lane, and collided head-on with a blue BMW 32L.
The BMW was driven by Ashley Sue Fraley, 31, of Lebanon. Fraley was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Hyundai, identified as Kayla Marie Fonseca, 35, of Sweet Home, was also pronounced deceased at the scene.
Rebecca Fonseca sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Highway 34 was impacted for approximately four hours as emergency crews conducted an on-scene investigation.
The Oregon State Police were assisted by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Fire Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
