Washington County Man Sentenced to More Than Eight Years in Prison for Domestic Violence Assault
HILLSBORO, Ore. — A Washington County man has been sentenced to more than eight years in prison after being convicted of multiple domestic violence-related offenses stemming from a violent attack that left the victim with serious injuries requiring surgery.
On Monday, July 20, 2026, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Hafez Daraee sentenced Jaycob Patrick Holten to 100 months in prison. The sentence follows a criminal trial in which Holten was found guilty of second-degree assault constituting domestic violence, fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Deputy District Attorney Katherine Miller prosecuted the case on behalf of the State.
According to prosecutors, Holten assaulted the victim, with whom he was in an intimate relationship, on Nov. 26, 2025. During the attack, he allegedly beat the victim, took her vehicle without permission, and threatened her with a knife.
Authorities said the victim was able to escape only after her roommate intervened. She suffered significant injuries that required surgery.
Tigard police responded to the incident and, during their investigation, learned Holten was already wanted on a felony warrant related to a separate domestic violence case.
Investigators later received information that Holten was at his mother’s home and might be armed with a firearm. Due to the potential threat, members of the Tigard Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Negotiations Team responded to the residence.
After making contact with officers, Holten agreed to leave the home peacefully and was taken into custody without further incident.
The Washington County District Attorney’s Office commended the victim for her courage throughout the case and recognized the efforts of the Tigard Police Department, the detectives who investigated the case, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for their work in bringing the case to a successful conclusion.
Holten will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his 100-month prison sentence.
