HILLSBORO, Ore. — A Washington County man has been sentenced to 150 months in prison after being convicted by a jury of multiple violent crimes stemming from a domestic violence investigation in Beaverton.
On July 1, 2026, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Kathleen Proctor sentenced Sage Robert Tarango to 150 months in prison following his convictions for rape, strangulation, unlawful use of a weapon, and assault. The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorneys Katherine Miller and Mark Richman.
According to prosecutors, the investigation began on Jan. 4, 2024, when officers with the Beaverton Police Department responded to a report of domestic violence. Police determined that Tarango had entered the victim’s home and forced her into a back room.
Responding officers entered the apartment, located Tarango, and took him into custody. During the investigation, detectives interviewed the victim and uncovered additional incidents of domestic violence allegedly committed by Tarango.
The Washington County District Attorney’s Office credited the Beaverton Police Department for its investigation and praised the victim for her courage throughout the criminal justice process.
Tarango will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his 150-month prison sentence.
