CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. — A 25-year-old West Linn woman was killed early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 205 near Milwaukie, according to the Oregon State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 2:41 a.m. on June 11 near milepost 13 on northbound I-205.
A preliminary investigation found that a black Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Sidney Rae Lewis, 25, of West Linn, was traveling northbound when it veered off the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation. The vehicle struck a tree and a fence after leaving the highway.
Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash prompted a temporary disruption of traffic on I-205 as investigators processed the scene. The highway was impacted for approximately three hours during the investigation.
Oregon State Police were assisted by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Clackamas Fire District, the Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
