CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — A multi-agency child exploitation investigation led to the execution of a search warrant Wednesday morning at a residence in rural Central Point, authorities said.
Members of the Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team (SOCET) and the Oregon Department of Justice’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force served the warrant at a home in the 5000 block of Table Rock Road after investigators determined that Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) had allegedly been uploaded from the location to the social messaging platform Discord.
The investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children forwarded a cyber tip to law enforcement. According to investigators, the tip prompted the issuance of subpoenas and ultimately led to the search warrant.
During the operation, investigators interviewed potential witnesses and individuals connected to the case. Digital devices were seized and will undergo forensic examination by the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force (SOHTCTF) as authorities continue to search for evidence related to child exploitation offenses.
No arrests have been announced, and officials said the investigation remains active.
SOCET was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, the Medford Police Department, the Talent Police Department, the Oregon Department of Justice ICAC Task Force, and the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force.
SOCET, established in June 2020, is a multi-agency task force dedicated to combating child exploitation crimes. The team includes investigators from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Medford Police Department, Oregon Department of Justice ICAC, and Homeland Security Investigations, along with prosecutors from local, state, and federal partner agencies. The Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force is composed of investigators from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Medford Police Department.
Authorities said investigators will continue reviewing evidence and conducting interviews. No additional information is being released at this time.
