Two Bend teenagers were arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly burglarizing a commercial building in the Northwest Crossing neighborhood, according to Bend Police.
Officers responded at approximately 2:13 a.m. May 24 to a report of a burglary in progress in the 2800 block of Northwest Crossing Drive. A caller told dispatchers that two individuals wearing ski masks were attempting to break into a building through a second-story balcony.
According to police, the suspects parked an electric motorcycle near the southwest corner of the building before climbing onto a balcony and entering the structure.
Responding officers established a perimeter around the area. At about 2:41 a.m., one officer reportedly observed the suspects leaving the building with electronics loaded into a backpack.
When officers ordered the pair to stop, the suspects fled on foot but were captured a short distance away, police said.
The suspects, both 15-year-old Bend residents, were arrested and taken to the Deschutes County Juvenile Community Justice facility.
They face charges including second-degree burglary, first-degree aggravated theft, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree escape and possession of burglary tools.
Police also impounded the electric motorcycle allegedly used during the burglary.
