Late Thursday night, firefighters responded to a fire at the Douglas County Forest Products facility in Douglas County.
According to emergency officials, crews from Central Douglas Fire & Rescue and the Sutherlin Fire Department were dispatched at 11:47 p.m. on May 14 to reports of a fire in the facility’s bag house system.
Firefighters arrived to find the fire confined to the bag house, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures or other areas of the mill.
Central Douglas Fire & Rescue and Sutherlin Fire Department responded with four engines, one ladder truck, two command units and 17 personnel to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not been released.
