Washington, D.C. — President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will host King Charles III and Queen Camilla in Washington, D.C., from April 27 to April 30, marking the first official State Visit of Trump’s second term.
The visit is intended to underscore the longstanding relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom as the U.S. approaches its 250th anniversary of independence. Preparations for the visit have been led by the First Lady.
Events begin Monday with a formal استقبال at the White House, followed by tea in the Green Room and a tour of the newly expanded White House beehive on the South Lawn.
On Tuesday, the leaders will participate in a State Arrival Ceremony featuring military honors, a 21-gun salute, and performances by U.S. military bands. The ceremony will include participation from all six branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, described as a first for a State Visit.
Following the ceremony, King Charles III and President Trump will hold a bilateral meeting in the Oval Office. Meanwhile, the First Lady and Queen Camilla will attend an educational event with students, incorporating virtual reality and artificial intelligence tools to explore shared history and culture.
Tuesday evening will feature a formal State Dinner at the White House, with additional details expected ahead of the event.
The visit will conclude Thursday morning with a formal farewell at the White House, ending a multi-day diplomatic engagement centered on reinforcing transatlantic ties.
