Albany, OR. — The Linn County Fair has announced that Montgomery Gentry featuring Eddie Montgomery will headline the main stage on Friday, July 17, completing this year’s concert lineup.
The performance is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. and joins previously announced acts, including Frankie Ballard on Thursday, July 16, and The Band Perry on Saturday, July 18.
Linn County Commissioner Roger Nyquist said the group’s roots in agriculture and rural life make them a natural fit for the fair. “We think fairgoers are going to enjoy this show,” Nyquist said.
Montgomery Gentry rose to prominence in the late 1990s, with Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry delivering a string of country hits. After Gentry’s death in a 2017 helicopter crash, Montgomery has continued performing, honoring the duo’s legacy.
Today, Montgomery remains a prominent voice in country music, known for high-energy performances and collaborations with artists such as Charlie Daniels, Toby Keith, Five for Fighting, and The Allman Brothers Band.
The group’s catalog includes five No. 1 country hits, and they have been inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and are members of the Grand Ole Opry.
Montgomery continues to tour nationally and recently released Home Run, a six-song EP featuring new material alongside a reworked version of their debut single “Hillbilly Shoes.”
All three concerts at the Linn County Fair are free with general admission. Reserved seating is available through the fair’s website. The fairgrounds are located at 3700 Knox Butte Road East in Albany.
