Eugene, OR. — Eugene Police Department officers have arrested a Eugene man accused of committing two armed robberies at the same local deli, following a targeted investigation and SWAT operation.
Police say the initial incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. on March 15 at Sandy’s Deli on Barger Drive, where a male suspect used a firearm to steal cash. Responding patrol officers, along with Property Crimes and Financial Crimes detectives, searched the area with assistance from K9 units from both Eugene Police and the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, but the suspect was not immediately located.
Detectives later identified the suspect as 43-year-old Eugene resident Solomon Everisto Lehi. Investigators also linked him to a previous robbery at the same deli in December 2025.
Following the investigation, Eugene Police and SWAT developed a plan to apprehend Lehi. On April 9 at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers moved in as Lehi left his workplace on West 11th Avenue. Authorities say he attempted to flee but was quickly taken into custody without injury.
After the arrest, officers served a search warrant at a residence on the 700 block of Maxwell Road, where Lehi had been staying. During the search, investigators recovered two firearms.
Lehi was booked into the Lane County Jail on two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree aggravated theft. The case remains under investigation.
