Jackson County, OR. — A Jackson County Grand Jury has indicted a 19-year-old White City man on felony sex abuse charges involving a teenage girl, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Eli Mulugeta Young, 19, was indicted on charges of unlawful sexual penetration in the second degree and sexual abuse in the third degree. He is currently lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
Deputies responded on Friday, February 6, to a report that a 19-year-old man had sexually abused a girl under the age of 14. Young was arrested in the 7000 block of Houston Loop in White City.
Detectives with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit believe there may be additional victims. Authorities are asking anyone with information related to Young to contact SVU Detective Jill Wenzel at 541-770-8928.
The investigation remains ongoing. Further information is expected to be released by the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office as the case proceeds.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that community tips are critical in investigations involving sexual abuse and encouraged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
