Portland, OR. — The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office announced that its Burglary Task Force secured its first conviction following a guilty plea entered on February 5, 2026.
Amber Marie Turner, 39, pled guilty to one count of Burglary in the First Degree and was sentenced to two years in prison. The court also ordered Turner to pay restitution and imposed three years of post-prison supervision following her release.
The case was prosecuted by Multnomah County Deputy District Attorney Alexander Garcia, who leads the Burglary Task Force.
“Criminals who target businesses in our community will be prosecuted and held accountable,” Garcia said. “This conviction is a step in the right direction for business owners, victims, and the broader community.”
According to investigators, the burglary occurred in the early morning hours of November 13, 2025, when surveillance video captured a male suspect breaking into Mary Jane’s House of Glass at approximately 3:50 a.m. The suspect forced entry through a plexiglass window and began stealing merchandise. Turner and others then entered the store and took additional items.
Police responding to the scene located Turner nearby carrying a large backpack and a white tote bag filled with stolen merchandise. She was also armed with a large crowbar. As part of her plea agreement, Turner admitted she entered the store with others, stole merchandise, and was armed with burglary tools.
The District Attorney’s Office credited Portland Police Detective Cameron Smith and other members of the Burglary Task Force for their investigative work.
The Burglary Task Force is a multi-agency effort involving Portland Police, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Gresham Police, Port of Portland Police, and the District Attorney’s Office. The task force focuses on combating organized property crime through cross-jurisdictional data sharing and coordinated enforcement.
