Beaverton, OR. — The Beaverton Police Department is investigating a burglary involving the theft of a rare Nike shoe collection and other valuables from a storage facility in Beaverton.
Detectives say the burglaries occurred at a Public Storage – 5353 SW 107th Avenue location, where suspects allegedly rented a storage unit in December 2025 to gain authorized access to a secured building. Investigators believe the suspects then entered neighboring units by traveling through the ceiling space above the storage units.
At least 10 storage units are believed to have been burglarized. One of the units contained a high-value collection of rare Nike shoes, while other units held additional valuable property. Police estimate total losses to victims exceed $100,000.
The suspects were identified as Dustin Kosmecki, 47, and Corey Schmidt, 45, both of Portland. Both men have been arrested and lodged at the Washington County Jail in Hillsboro.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims who have not yet reported losses. Anyone who rented a unit at the facility and believes their property may have been stolen is encouraged to contact the Beaverton Police Department.
Public Storage officials have cooperated with the investigation, providing access records and surveillance footage to investigators. The case remains ongoing.
