Klamath County, OR. — The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for a series of business burglaries that occurred along South Sixth Street and Hilyard Avenue beginning October 19, 2025.
Businesses targeted included Casey’s Restaurant, Le Bella Boutique Salon, But Make It Dirty Soda Bar, ATR Towing and Recovery, the Klamath County Fairgrounds, and Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens, where significant damage to memorial structures was also reported. Investigators estimated more than $29,000 in stolen property and damages.
Security footage obtained from nearby businesses, including the Black Bear Diner, revealed a black Ford Crown Victoria with distinctive silver rims at the scene. Deputies linked the vehicle to 29-year-old Anthony James Hird of Klamath Falls, previously identified in a fuel theft case. A generator seen in Hird’s vehicle matched one reported stolen from But Make It Dirty Soda Bar.
A search warrant executed on October 22 led to the recovery of the stolen WEN 4800 generator and additional evidence connecting Hird to other burglaries. On October 24, deputies arrested Hird after a brief foot pursuit near Campus Green Mobile Park on Highway 97, with assistance from the Oregon State Police.
Several stolen items have been returned to their owners, though some property remains missing. Investigators believe others may have been involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Cooper Roberts at 541-883-5130 ext. 8118 or croberts@klamathcountyor.gov
