Suspect in Portland Homicide Taken Into Custody
On July 1, 2024, murder suspect Moyasar Osman Mohamed-Ahmed turned himself in for the shooting death of Sean K. Smeeden in Portland, OR. Transported to Multnomah County Detention Center on a Second Degree Murder charge. Contact Detective William Winters or Detective Calvin Goldring with information.

Portland, OR. – Official Release: On the evening of Monday, July 1, 2024, Moyasar Osman Mohamed-Ahmed, the suspect in the shooting death of Sean K. Smeeden, turned himself in by making contact with a deputy with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. CCSO confirmed Mohamed-Ahmed’s murder warrant and contacted the Portland Police Bureau. Mohamed-Ahmed was then transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center and lodged on the following charge: Murder in the Second Degree.
