Two weeks ago, Chairman Jim Jordan spoke forcefully against the motion to remove Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House. Sadly, just 8 Republicans, refusing to listen to Jim and the rest of us, joined all 213 Democrats in dumping McCarthy. Realizing that our situation demands immediate and experienced leadership, Chair Jordan has stepped up.
Having served with Chair Jordan on the Judiciary Committee for almost 3 years, I have had repeated opportunities to watch him lead productive and forceful discussions regarding the Southern Border, oversight of the FBI and the Department of Justice, and review of Homeland Security and FTC. Additionally, Jim has spent years consistently supporting Republican Conservative values.
I voted for him as the next Speaker of the House last Wednesday and I voted for him again last Friday. When his nomination is made on the floor later this week, I will vote for him a third time.
