Justice Gavel Court Sentenced 2

A 36-year-old Florence man has been sentenced to 30 months in the Oregon Department of Corrections for property crimes investigated across western Lane County.

Jason Scott Sprinkle pleaded guilty to Burglary in the Second Degree and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. The crimes were investigated by the Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) with assistance from other local law enforcement agencies.

According to the LCSO, property crime investigations can be labor intensive, particularly when multiple victims and jurisdictions are involved. Deputies and detectives spent numerous hours collecting and reviewing evidence connected to multiple property crimes. LCSO digital forensic detectives also assisted in examining evidence recovered from seized electronic devices.

The investigation led to a search warrant operation on March 4, 2026, at a residence in the 2200 block of 12th Street in Florence. Deputies with the LCSO Special Response Team, detectives, a West Lane district deputy, Florence Police officers and an Oregon State Police trooper participated in the operation.

Investigators said Sprinkle was suspected of being involved in numerous burglaries and thefts in western Lane County. The search warrant was based on an investigation conducted by the West Lane district deputy.

During the warrant service, Sprinkle, who was 35 at the time, attempted to flee on foot while armed with a knife. Deputies used a Taser, causing Sprinkle to drop the knife, and he was taken into custody without further incident.

Authorities recovered stolen property believed to be connected to several cases, along with additional construction materials and tools.

At the time of his arrest, Sprinkle faced charges including first-degree theft, second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, failure to report as a sex offender, possession of a stolen vehicle and a parole violation stemming from a previous conviction for assaulting a public safety officer.

Sprinkle was ultimately sentenced to 30 months in DOC custody after pleading guilty to second-degree burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.
