DALLAS, Ore. — A 69-year-old Sheridan man has been sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for sexually abusing two related minors under the age of 14, according to the Polk County District Attorney’s Office.
Frederick Lee Johnston was sentenced by Polk County Circuit Judge pro tem Timothy R. Park to 150 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of Sex Abuse in the First Degree.
Johnston entered his guilty pleas following a judicial settlement conference conducted by Judge Park. He received 75 months on each count, with the sentences ordered to be served consecutively. He will also serve 45 months of post-prison supervision.
The sentence was imposed under Oregon’s Ballot Measure 11 mandatory minimum sentencing requirements. According to prosecutors, the Measure 11 sentence means Johnston is not eligible for early release or other sentence-reduction programs.
During the investigation, authorities found more than 30 weapons in Johnston’s possession. The weapons were forfeited because Johnston had a prior felony weapons-related conviction.
The case was investigated by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Polk County Deputy District Attorney Shannon Clausen.
