Alex McHaddad Files to Run for Elgin City Administrator

Elgin, Oregon – Alex McHaddad, Elgin’s current chief administrative officer, filed to run for a full term as City Administrator this week. He was originally appointed to fill a vacancy in the position in April 2024, and was appointed by the City Council for another 6-month period in June to continue in the role on a pro tempore basis as outlined in the City Charter. McHaddad said:

I’m proud of the work I’ve accomplished with Mayor James Johnson and the Elgin City Council since my appointment in April 2024. We’re moving forward polishing the Jewel of the Blue Mountains with improved public safety, enhanced economic development, and expanded community engagement. God bless Elgin!”

McHaddad’s candidacy was certified on August 7 following signature verification by the Union County Clerk’s office. He looks forward to connecting with voters through election day on November 3, 2026.
