HILLSBORO, Ore. — A Washington County man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a woman while she slept and unlawfully entering two occupied Beaverton homes during a late-night crime spree.
On July 21, 2026, Christopher Lloyd Rydman pleaded guilty to first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree burglary of an occupied dwelling, and private indecency. Washington County Circuit Court Judge Eric Butterfield sentenced Rydman to 10 years in prison. Senior Deputy District Attorney Andrew Freeman prosecuted the case.
According to prosecutors, the incidents occurred on the night of Oct. 8, 2025.
At approximately 10:45 p.m., Rydman entered an unlocked apartment in Beaverton occupied by a single mother and her children. Authorities said he went into the woman’s bedroom, climbed into her bed, and began touching her while she was asleep.
The victim awoke to find Rydman lying beside her. She fled the bedroom and used her cellphone to record him as he left the apartment, while her son called 911.
As Beaverton police investigated that incident, Rydman allegedly approached another home about a half-mile away and lingered at the front door, triggering a security camera and prompting a second 911 call.
Before officers could locate him, investigators said Rydman entered another unlocked residence nearby. He climbed into bed with a woman and her boyfriend while partially nude, wearing no pants. The couple awoke to find the intruder in their bed, and the boyfriend physically forced Rydman out of the home.
Officers already searching the area spotted Rydman in the street shortly afterward and took him into custody.
The Washington County District Attorney’s Office praised the Beaverton Police Department for its investigation and thanked the victims for their cooperation throughout the case.
Rydman will be transferred to the Oregon Department of Corrections to serve his 10-year prison sentence.
