SALEM, Ore. — A routine traffic stop in northeast Salem early Thursday morning resulted in the arrest of a Salem man with multiple outstanding warrants and the seizure of approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine, according to police.
Officers conducted the traffic stop at approximately 2:19 a.m. on July 16 in the 600 block of Greencrest Street NE. During the investigation, officers identified the driver as 43-year-old Joshua Walker of Salem and determined he had three outstanding criminal arrest warrants.
Walker was taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, officers located a small amount of fentanyl on Walker. A subsequent search of his vehicle uncovered a restricted weapon and approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine, police said.
Walker was lodged at the Marion County Jail on the three outstanding warrants as well as new charges of unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of fentanyl.
The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities said any additional inquiries should be directed to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.
