PORTLAND, Ore. — A Alex Miller Eldridge man is facing federal charges after investigators accused him of sexually exploiting minors online and in person across multiple states and distributing child sexual abuse material.
According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court, Eldridge, 36, has been charged with sexual exploitation of children as well as possession and distribution of child pornography.
Federal investigators allege Eldridge used multiple online accounts beginning in May 2025 to exploit minors in several U.S. states and at least one foreign country. Court documents state that in December 2024, Eldridge traveled from Hawaii to Pennsylvania, where he allegedly sexually abused a minor he met through the Discord application. Prosecutors say Eldridge recorded the abuse and later shared the videos with other minors online.
Authorities allege Eldridge also used the Discord and Session applications throughout 2025 and 2026 to engage in sexually explicit conversations with additional minors. Investigators say he directed one victim in Colorado and another in Greece to send sexually explicit videos, then threatened to distribute the material online.
According to investigators, Discord reported Eldridge in November 2025 for allegedly distributing multiple files containing child sexual abuse material.
Homeland Security Investigations agents executed a search warrant at Eldridge’s home on May 20, where they reportedly uncovered additional evidence related to the exploitation of minors and CSAM activity. Investigators also said evidence recovered from Eldridge’s cellphone indicated he distributed CSAM on Discord the day before his arrest.
Eldridge made his first appearance in federal court Thursday before a U.S. magistrate judge, who ordered him detained pending further court proceedings.
U.S. Attorney Scott E. Bradford announced the charges. The case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mira Chernick.
Officials noted that a criminal complaint is only an accusation, and Eldridge is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
