Two people were killed Monday night in a crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle on Highway 62 near Medford, according to the Oregon State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 9:38 p.m. on May 11 near milepost 3 in Jackson County.
A preliminary investigation found that a westbound Dodge Ram pickup driven by Kristin Michelle Cowan, 35, of Medford, struck the rear of a westbound Kawasaki Eliminator motorcycle operated by John Daren Stribling, 56, of Central Point.
John Stribling and his passenger, Bobbie Lynn Stribling-King, 44, of Central Point, were both declared dead at the scene.
Cowan was reportedly uninjured in the crash.
Investigators said impairment is considered a primary factor in the collision. Cowan was arrested and lodged at the Jackson County Jail on charges including DUII, reckless driving, and manslaughter.
Highway 62 was impacted for approximately seven hours while investigators processed the scene.
The Oregon State Police said the investigation remains ongoing. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.
