LANE COUNTY, Ore. — Two people were arrested following a burglary investigation and a high-speed pursuit that ended in Lowell on the evening of May 2, 2026, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 2:50 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a burglary in the 40300 block of Jasper Lowell Road. The initial caller reported finding a person trespassing on their property. Shortly after, a second resident contacted authorities reporting that their home had been broken into and a vehicle had been stolen from inside their shop.
During the investigation, deputies learned the suspects were associated with a black BMW SUV bearing Oregon license plates.
Later that evening, at about 9:15 p.m., a deputy located the suspect vehicle in Lowell and began following it. The driver allegedly fled eastbound on Highway 58, driving recklessly as deputies initiated a pursuit.
The Oakridge Police Department deployed spike strips, which successfully slowed the vehicle. Deputies then used a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver to safely end the chase.
The driver was identified as 28-year-old Brendon Andrew Johnson of Sprague River. He was taken into custody and lodged at the Lane County Jail. Johnson faces multiple charges, including two counts of Burglary in the First Degree, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Vehicle, two counts of Elude Police by Vehicle, Theft in the First Degree, Unlawful Entry of a Vehicle, Reckless Driving, five counts of Reckless Endangering, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants unrelated to this investigation.
A second suspect, identified as 28-year-old Emily Rose McGinnis of Klamath Falls, was also arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail. McGinnis faces charges including Burglary in the First Degree, Burglary in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Vehicle, Theft in the First Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, along with additional outstanding warrants.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Oakridge Police Department and the Oregon State Police for their assistance during the investigation and pursuit.
