BEAVERTON, Ore. – On April 29, 2026, at approximately 2:35 p.m., officers with the Beaverton Police Department responded to a report of an active fraud attempt at Capital Pawn, located in the 12000 block of SW Canyon Road, involving suspects allegedly attempting to sell a counterfeit luxury watch.
According to police, employees at Capital Pawn reported that several individuals were trying to sell what was represented as an authentic Rolex watch. Staff became suspicious and contacted law enforcement. Investigators later learned the same group had successfully sold a counterfeit Rolex to a similar business in Portland the previous day.
Following a preliminary investigation, authorities determined the suspects were part of an organized scheme targeting pawn shops and similar businesses across the region by attempting to pass off counterfeit high-end watches as genuine luxury goods.
Three individuals were arrested in connection with the case: 23-year-old Destiny Villalpando of Moreno Valley, California; 21-year-old Christopher Rosales of Los Angeles, California; and 23-year-old Isaac R. Hernandez of Chino, California.
All three were taken into custody on fraud-related charges and transported to the Beaverton Police Department for processing. The case will be referred to the Washington County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution review and formal charging decisions.
During the investigation, officers seized $20,373 in cash from the suspects. Authorities believe the money represents proceeds from fraudulent transactions connected to the alleged scheme.
Police say the investigation remains active. Detectives are working to determine whether additional businesses in Oregon or surrounding areas may have been targeted or victimized in a similar manner.
The Beaverton Police Department is asking anyone with information related to this case—or who believes they may have been approached in a similar scam—to contact investigators.
