PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), in coordination with Multnomah County public health officials, has identified an additional date when people may have been exposed to measles at Centennial Middle School in southeast Portland.
According to health officials, potential exposure may have occurred between 9:20 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, April 3. Individuals who were at the school during that time are urged to contact a health care provider to assess their risk.
The newly identified date adds to a previously reported list of exposure periods at the school. Earlier in the day, OHA announced potential exposures on the following dates:
- Wednesday, April 1
- Monday, April 6
- Tuesday, April 7
- Wednesday, April 8
- Thursday, April 9
- Friday, April 10
Health officials advise anyone who was present at the school during these dates and times to notify their health care provider immediately. Providers can evaluate whether a person is protected against measles based on vaccination history, age, or laboratory evidence of prior infection.
Families without a primary care provider can establish care through Multnomah County’s network of seven primary care clinics or nine student health centers, which serve individuals ages 5 to 18. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 503-988-5558.
More information about measles, including symptoms and prevention, is available through the Oregon Health Authority.
