Lane County, Ore. — A single-vehicle crash Monday morning claimed the life of a driver after an apparent medical emergency caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and fire personnel responded around 11 a.m. on April 6 to the scene on Central Road near Fleck Road, where a Dodge pickup truck had veered off the roadway and overturned in a ditch.
Investigators determined the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, likely experienced a medical issue while driving, leading to the crash. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the driver, pending notification of next of kin.
The incident remains under investigation.
