Salem, OR. — Salem Police detectives are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a shooting involving two juveniles at McKay Park last month.
The incident occurred between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on February 17, 2026, at the park located at 2755 Hollywood Drive NE.
Officers responding to reports of gunfire located a crime scene and identified two juvenile victims. One of the juveniles suffered a gunshot wound to his arm after being approached during a confrontation inside the park, according to police.
The suspects fled the area before officers arrived.
Police deployed a canine unit and used a drone to search the surrounding area but were unable to locate the individuals involved.
Detectives with the Salem Police Violent Crimes Unit are seeking two male individuals considered persons of interest in the investigation. No additional suspect descriptions were immediately released.
