Washington County, OR. — A Washington County jury on Feb. 17, 2026, found 21-year-old Kentrell Jourdan Mack Yates guilty of multiple sex crimes, including rape in the first degree, sexual abuse in the first degree, and sexual abuse in the second degree.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Alyssa Camp before Judge Andrew Erwin. Two separate cases were consolidated for trial.
According to prosecutors, Yates met the first victim in June 2025, when she was a minor, and invited her to go swimming at an apartment complex in Washington County. After arriving at the pool, he suggested they use a private sauna. Once inside, authorities said Yates made sexual advances and held the victim in place while sexually assaulting her. The victim later escaped and reported the incident to law enforcement.
Detectives with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office began searching for Yates during their investigation. In the process, they identified a second victim who had conceived a child with Yates while she was still a minor, according to prosecutors.
The Washington County District Attorney’s Office commended the victims for reporting the assaults and thanked the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, CARES Northwest, and Randall Children’s Hospital for their assistance in the investigation.
Yates is scheduled to be sentenced on March 30, 2026.
