Linn County, OR. — The Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies arrested a Sweet Home man Sunday after an armed confrontation, attempted escape, and K-9 search near Lacomb.
According to Sheriff Michelle Duncan, deputies responded at 10:39 a.m. on January 25, 2026, to a report of a stolen vehicle in the 39900 block of Lacomb Drive outside Lebanon. Investigators said Travis Pressey, 47, of Sweet Home, was driving a green 1990 Honda CRX that had been stolen earlier in the week from the Sweet Home area.
Authorities said a caller who knew the vehicle’s owner confronted Pressey, who allegedly pointed a firearm at the caller before fleeing toward Lacomb. Deputies arrived and began searching the area, locating the Honda in a driveway. Pressey attempted to leave but the vehicle was out of gas, prompting him to flee on foot into a wooded area.
A K-9 unit was deployed, and K-9 Juice tracked and apprehended Pressey, biting him on the arm during the arrest. Deputies reported Pressey was found in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Pressey sustained minor injuries to his upper arm and was evaluated by Lebanon Medics at the scene before being transported to the Linn County Jail. He was booked on multiple charges, including two counts of felony attempt to elude, misdemeanor attempt to elude, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another, possession of methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a firearm, menacing, and tampering with physical evidence. Authorities said Pressey also had a felony warrant for a weapons offense and a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear related to a hit-and-run case.
Because Pressey was reported to be armed, deputies searched the area for the firearm but were unable to locate it before nightfall due to thick brush and darkness. The Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team returned the following morning and found a .22-caliber revolver near the location where Pressey was apprehended.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials said Pressey may face additional charges related to other cases.
