Corvallis, OR. — Officers with the Corvallis Police Department arrested a 27-year-old Corvallis resident Monday morning following multiple reports of erratic and dangerous driving.
Police said they began receiving community complaints at approximately 8:27 a.m. involving a light blue Ford Taurus in the area of Northwest Monroe Avenue and Northwest Arnold Avenue. Officers located the vehicle near the registered owner’s residence at about 8:41 a.m.
Upon officer contact, the driver, identified as Korbin Ray Clemmons, fled on foot and was apprehended a short distance away after entering a neighboring backyard.
Officers determined Clemmons is a registered sex offender who was in abscond status and had an active warrant issued by the Oregon State Parole Board. He was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants – Drugs, Reckless Driving, Interfering with a Peace Officer, and Driving While Suspended (misdemeanor).
Police also confirmed Clemmons had an extraditable warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service for failure to register as a sex offender.
Clemmons was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
