Yamhill County, OR. — On Sunday, October 19, 2025, Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to two major crashes involving impaired drivers, while also assisting Oregon State Police with a third.
Deputy Jody Ingham, the county’s dedicated DUII Enforcement deputy funded through an Oregon Department of Transportation grant, investigated both primary incidents. Excessive speed and alcohol impairment were identified as causal factors in each crash, which caused significant traffic disruptions on rural two-lane roads.
The first crash occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the 24000 block of NE Sunnycrest Road near Newberg. A vehicle driven by Debbie Miller, 59, left the road and rolled about 100 feet into a ravine. Fire and EMS crews from Dundee and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue extricated Miller, who was airlifted to a Portland trauma center. Her blood alcohol content was later measured at 0.17%, and she was cited for DUII and Reckless Driving.
Around 4:00 p.m., another single-vehicle crash occurred in the 14700 block of NE North Valley Road in rural Yamhill. The driver, Eduardo Borja-Tinoco, 28, of McMinnville, was extricated by fire crews and transported to a hospital. His blood alcohol content was 0.19% at admission and 0.09% four hours later. He was lodged at the Yamhill County Correctional Facility for DUII, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering.
Earlier that afternoon, at about 1:20 p.m., deputies also assisted Oregon State Police with a DUII crash on Highway 47 near NE McLoughlin Drive in Cove Orchard. That driver, an adult male, was arrested by OSP after striking a telephone pole.
As the holiday season approaches, the Sheriff’s Office urges residents to plan ahead and always arrange for a sober driver when consuming alcohol or other intoxicants.
