Springfield, OR. — The Springfield History Museum is bringing back one of the city’s favorite fall traditions with the return of Fright at the Museum, a haunted house fundraiser blending local history with Halloween thrills.
This year’s event, themed “Screamfield’s Frankenstein,” runs over two weekends — October 16–18 and October 23–25, 2025 — at the museum, located at 590 Main Street in downtown Springfield. The event is presented in partnership with the Springfield Utility Board.
“Fright at the Museum has quickly become one of Springfield’s favorite traditions,” said Museum Curator Maddi McGraw. “It’s a fun way to celebrate the season, connect with history, and support the museum’s mission.”
Visitors can choose between two experiences:
- Family-Friendly Hours: 4:00–6:00 p.m., featuring brighter lights and milder scares, ideal for kids and families.
- Full Fright Hours: 6:30–8:30 p.m., with darker settings and more intense thrills for teens and adults.
After exploring the haunted halls, guests can unwind at a “recovery station” with free snacks and photo opportunities.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for youth (ages 5–17), free for children under 5, or $20 for families of five or more. All proceeds benefit the museum’s exhibits, collections, and educational programming.
The Springfield History Museum, managed by the Springfield Public Library, serves as the city’s official historical repository and interpretive center, celebrating the stories of Springfield and rural east Lane County. Regular hours are Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with free admission year-round.
