Portland, OR. — Official Release:The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) is releasing additional details about a tragic triple homicide that occurred Saturday evening in the Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood.
Detectives with PPB’s Homicide Unit believe a 22-year-old man fatally shot his 46-year-old mother and 10-year-old sister before taking his own life.
Officers from East Precinct responded at approximately 5:05 p.m. on September 6 to reports of a suicide at a home in the 7000 block of Southeast 64th Avenue. When they arrived, officers discovered a male and two females deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
The names of the deceased will be released following autopsies by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
While the investigation remains active, detectives say they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
PPB’s Crisis Response Team was also on scene to provide emotional support and resources to impacted family members and community members.
