Curry County, OR. — Official Release: On April 2, 2025, Chair Alcorn announced his resignation from the Curry County Board of Commissioners, effective May 1, 2025. Alcorn shared that the decision to step down was not an easy one but was prompted by personal issues that have made it difficult for him to remain fully present and engaged in his role. “Its an honor and a privilege to work with the two of you. Both of you are very much invested in the future of this County and me not being here is not fair to you,” Alcorn stated.
In response to this announcement, the Board of Commissioners discussed the next steps for filling the vacant position. An application process will be opened, and interviews will be held during the next Business Meeting scheduled for April 15, 2025.
Anyone interested in applying for the open seat is encouraged to submit an application. Applications are available on the Curry County website on the Public Notices/Vacancies Page or can be picked up in person at the Board of Commissioners Office, located at 94235 Moore Street, Gold Beach.
